was:<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"move_left_20\">The cost of that traffic<br \/>The rate at which that traffic turned into new <span class=\"under_line_border\"> roofing leads<\/span> for their business (ie: the conversion rate)<\/span><\/p><p>From experience, we knew that improving account structure and ad rank scores would<br \/>take care of the first point.<\/p><p>As for the second point, it became clear to us that if we wanted to improve the rate at<br \/>which traffic turned into leads, we would have to stop sending traffic to our customer\u2019s website and start building out dedicated landing pages in order to run ongoing conversion rate tests.<\/p><p>Now I know what you\u2019re thinking. Are landing pages really that effective?<\/p><p>Wouldn\u2019t a full-blown website do a better job of converting traffic into leads?<\/p><p>Glad you asked\u2026<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ff7d4e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"5ff7d4e\" class=\"under_line_border\">The main reason for using landing pages<\/span> over a full-blown website is because they focus on one single objective that matches the intent of the ad visitors clicked on to reach<br \/>your page.<\/p><p>Also, contrary to a website, every single link on a landing page does one thing and one thing only\u2014get visitors to do what you want them to (fill out a form, click to call, start a chat session , etc.).<\/p><p>With landing pages, you can take the concept of message match (the ability of your<br \/>landing page to reflect the messaging presented in your ad) to a whole other level.<\/p><p>For instance, take this example of message match:<\/p><p><strong>An example of bad message match<\/strong><br \/>Ad copy: \u201c<em>Save 1,000$ on a New Metal the first<br \/>because it delivers the information that piqued the visitor\u2019s curiosity in the first place.<\/p><p>But aside from all these benefits, there\u2019s an even greater reason to use landing pages\u2014 the ability to test!<\/p><p>Using a landing page tool like Unbounce or Instapage, we can automatically split up the<br \/>traffic we generate and send it to different page know that the benefits of landing pages \u2014a single objective, no distractions, better message match, and the ability to test \u2014gradually <strong>increase conversion rates<\/strong> and <strong>decrease cost per lead<\/strong> over time.<\/p><p>By how much, you ask?<\/p><p>Well, it depends on many factors.<\/p><p>Let\u2019s take a class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Here\u2019s what our results looked like after running traffic to both our customer\u2019s website<br \/>and the dedicated landing pages we built for them.<\/p><p><strong>Sending traffic to their website:<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"move_left_20\">Conversion rate: 3.56%<br \/>Cost per lead: $196<\/span><\/p><p>Those numbers aren\u2019t bad at all, and in more competitive markets, they would be<br \/>considered amazing (some contractors are willing to pay $400+ for an exclusive,<br \/>qualified lead).<\/p><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Keep in mind these are <span class=\"under_line_border\">exclusive leads<\/span> , which means they aren\u2019t being sold 5+ times as is the case with <span class=\"under_line_border\">lead generation websites for contractors<\/span>.<\/p><p>But even so, we knew our landing pages would do a much better job at turning traffic into leads. And after a few months of testing and optimizing, our hunch was confirmed:<\/p><p><strong>After switching to landing pages:<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"move_left_20\">Conversion rate 5.77%<br \/>Cost per lead: $121<\/span><\/p><p>Now I\u2019m no mathemagician, but I can do basic math.<\/p><p>The use of landing pages ended up <strong>reducing their cost per lead by $75.<\/strong><\/p><p>That means we\u2019re now able to generate an <strong>additional 63 leads for our customer each month<\/strong> \u2026from the same budget!<\/p><p>And these extra leads go on to add an additional six figures per month, and seven figures per year in revenue for our customer.<\/p><p>In other words, it pays to test.<\/p><p>And the best part is the optimization process never ends. There are always new<br \/>headlines to try, content to mix in, offers to run, and page elements to shuffle around in order to continue moving the needle.<\/p><p>Our current conversion rate of 5.77% is the new benchmark, but with a few more tests we should be able to increase it further (which happens fairly often when you have a whole department dedicated to testing).<\/p><p>Over time, we\u2019ll be able to drive even more leads from the same marketing budget, essentially reducing their cost of marketing and helping them grow faster.<\/p><p>That\u2019s the beauty of ongoing <span class=\"under_line_border\">landing page conversion rate optimization<\/span> , and it\u2019s a crucial part of our <span class=\"under_line_border\">contractor marketing strategy<\/span>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-84e4e98 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"84e4e98\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">It\u2019s time for you to use landing pages!<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-847f1f9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"847f1f9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>From our experience, using landing pages over websites as the destination for pay per<br \/>click traffic is the right move 95% of the time. There are of course exceptions to the rule,<br \/>but they are few and far between.<\/p><p>And the more money you spend each month on pay per click to send traffic to your<br \/>landing pages, the more tests you can run, and the faster you can make significant<br \/>improvements to your conversion rates (and thus, get more leads for your money!)<\/p><p><strong>Bottom line:<\/strong> If you\u2019re not using high-converting landing pages in tandem with your<br \/>Google, Bing, and Facebook campaigns, you\u2019re missing out on a ton of additional leads<br \/>for your
